COMCAST RISE Applications Now Open To All Women-Owned Small Businesses

In its first year alone, Comcast RISE has provided over $60 million in grants, marketing and technology services to support more than 6,700 small businesses owned by people of color in Comcast’s national footprint – including nearly 550 in the company’s Greater Chicago Region. With the expansion to all women-owned small businesses, the program is on track to support 13,000 businesses by the end of 2022

CWLP Small Business Rate Relief Rebate

City Water, Light & Power (CWLP) is offering utility bill relief to help locally-owned small businesses in financial hardship due to COVID-19. The Springfield City Council approved a total allocation of $1 million from CWLP’s Environmental and Regulatory Initiative and Rebate Fund (ERIRF) for this relief program. Applications will open on Thursday, December 17 at 9 a.m.

Springfield Ranked #9 Best Paying City for Construction Workers in Small Metros

According to a recent U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data reviewed by Construction Coverage, the Midwest claims the highest median wages for construction workers. For each metro, Construction Coverage "calculated the adjusted median wage for construction workers by factoring in the relative cost of living. The report also includes the unadjusted median wages of construction workers and all workers, as well as the total number of construction workers employed, and the cost of living."
