Sergio “Satch” Pecori, P.E., is chairman and chief executive officer of Hanson Professional Services Inc., an employee-owned engineering, planning and allied services company. He received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in civil engineering, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Satch joined Hanson full time in 1974. In 1999, he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from UIUC’s College of Civil Engineering. He is a distinguished chapter honor member of UIUC’s Chi Epsilon and was named an honorary Beta Gamma Sigma chapter member by the University of Illinois Springfield’s College of Business and Management.

Satch is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies and served as national chair from 2017–18. He also is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, serving on its Industry Leaders Council; serves on the Design Professionals Coalition’s Executive Committee; and is a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. In 2018, Satch was inducted into the National Academy of Construction. His many professional and volunteer appointments include the board of directors for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation, Illinois National Bank and Memorial Health System.

Satch has received numerous awards, including the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s President’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and Dedication, the U.S. Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service, ISPE’s Illinois Award, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and ASCE’s OPAL Award for Outstanding Management.
