Amber Krager joined the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance in November 2019 as an Executive Assistant, quickly picking up more responsibilities which led to her promotion to Economic Development Officer.
Amber has 13+ years of working with the State of Illinois in legislative administration and relations. Throughout that time, she served the House of Representatives (8 years), the State Senate (1 year), and then the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) as a legislative liaison under Director Rosenthal for 4 years. While working at IDNR, she also managed the office of the Illinois Conservation Foundation.
Amber became a small business owner in 2009 when she opened a spray tanning salon, which was a unique and emerging technique in the cosmetic industry at the time. Since then she has expanded to a second location and has built an ongoing client base that she continues to manage today.
Amber is a native of Springfield, IL, and has two children, Hannah and Jace. She attended Springfield College of Illinois and Lincoln Land Community College. Amber is a member of the Illinois Women in Leadership.
