Dan Meckes

Dan Meckes is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), a nationally-ranked and Midwest-based professional engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Springfield.

A Springfield native, Dan graduated from Sacred Heart-Griffin High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Marquette University. He joined CMT in 1983, as a professional engineer with a focus on transportation infrastructure. Today, as CEO, Dan oversees the strategic direction and overall management of the firm.

Dan is highly engaged with federal, state and local leaders on sustainable infrastructure. This includes serving as the Chairperson for the Sustainable Funding of Infrastructure Group ($FIG) in Illinois. He is also on the Executive Board of the Illinois based Innovations in Construction, Asphalt and Transportation (ICAT) Conference. Throughout his career, Dan has been highly engaged with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) in various capacities. In addition to serving on several ACEC committees, he was the 2016-2017 ACEC-Missouri Board Chair. He has also provided industry leadership on priorities of diversity, including STEM-focused initiatives.
