Tom Marantz

CEO & Chairman, Bank of Springfield

Tom Marantz is a native of Springfield, IL. He spent his high school years at Williston Academy, a boarding school in Easthampton, MA. He graduated from Williston in 1972 then earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in 1976. Tom continued his education earning his Master of Business Administration from St. Louis University in 1978. During his academic years, Tom was a competitive swimmer. He won the New England championship in both the individual and team events in 1972, the individual Big 8 championship in 1973 and the Big 8 team championship in 1976.

In the summer of 1978, Tom was a summer intern for the Commissioner of Banks. He joined Bank of Springfield (BOS) in 1979 where he currently serves as CEO and Chairman of the Board. Tom is also active in other areas in the financial community. He is currently a member on the Citizens Bank of Edinburg Board of Directors. He also served on the State Banking Board of Illinois and was Chairman of the First Community State Bank Board from 2003 to 2014 when it merged with BOS and served as past Chairman of the Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI).

In addition to these boards, Tom has been a member of thirteen other boards and continues to serve on the boards of Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance, Springfield Sports Hall of Fame, Children Dyslexia Center of Springfield, Simmons Cancer Institute, and University of Illinois at Springfield Stars Advisory Council.
