Charlene has been the Chancellor of St. John's College of Nursing in Springfield since 2016, where she is responsible for the College's financial management, accreditation, enrollment, student experience, community relations and innovation. She has a research interest in the caregivers of persons with dementia and is active on the Alzheimer's Association Scientific and Advisory Council. From 1994-2005, Dr. Aaron was Director of Nursing for three different retirement communities, and she worked as a Project Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Illinois State University from 2005 until 2016. She earned a BS in Nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University, an MSN in Nursing Systems Administration from the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University, and a Ph.D. in Nursing in Aging from the University of Iowa College of Nursing.
