The Lincoln Land Energy Center, proposed by EmberClear, Siemens Energy and Bechtel will be a natural gas-fueled 1,090-megawatt electricity generating plant on the edge of Pawnee, conveniently located near the Panhandle Eastern and Rockies Express gas transmission pipelines.
The projected start is Q3 2021, with commercial operations in 2024. The expected $1.0 billion investment would create 400-800 construction jobs over a two-phased, seven-year period and eventually up to 35 permanent jobs. The plant could transition from a baseload unit using natural gas to a renewable energy storage facility.
